About the Journal

Founded and launched in 2020 by Buddhist Missionary and curator Thich Giac Chinh, Journal of the U.S. Sangha for Buddhist Studies: Journal of Buddhist Studies has served as an important voice in the media Buddhism. In addition to in-depth feature articles, the journal publishes book and exhibition reviews, cultural studies, and related fields of Buddhism as well as conference and festival reports.


The Journal of Buddhist Studies is published two times per year on a calendar year basis in print and electronic formats (print: ISSN 2692-7357, electronic ISSN 2692-739X).

New subscriptions begin with the first issue of the current calendar year, regardless of the purchase date.


All print subscriptions include online access to the Journal. Please note that delivery of print issues may take up to 30 days after the mail date to arrive. Air freight postage will be added to all print orders delivered outside North America.


Membership options that include print and/or online access to the journal are available through the Journal of Buddhist Studies (JBS).
